TRA -LA TRA LA A HAPPZZZY DAZ (sorrzy I mean DAY

Well, it's a happy day despite those sillz little elves falling off the reindeer and spoiling their toothbrushing routine bz giving them sweets and having to use a funnz kezboard where that nastz Ruprecht person has put all the ZZZ's where the YYY's USED TO BE. And misplaced the caps lock I now find.

Anyway I'VE HAD LOTS OF LETTERS FROM CHILDREN AND THEY make me really happy. I've had a lot from America, and one from a girl called Joseline in Australia, but the one I liked most was from somebody called Jasmine. She wanted to know if I'm still enjoying parachuting (well I've stopped while I was away getting materials to make the toys -but I'm looking forward to doing some more.)

Anyway what Jasmine wanted was for everyone to have happy day. Well that's what I want as well, Jasmine. And if you are nice to everyone, and think about them, and do nice things for them you will be happz (SORRY HAPPY) TOO.

So tra´la, tra la I'm singing as I work and I feel like flying through the air or even parachuting again. Hurrah HURRAH HURRAH

Careless reindeer!

Me and some of the other elves went for a reindeer ride last night but it went badly wrong. Here's what happened:

Santa was out getting materials for making toys, you know, stuff like wood, cloth, paints, plastic and electronic components. While he was gone, we sneaked into the reindeer stable and offered them candy canes in exchange for a quick fly. Santa won't let the reindeer have any sweets because they refuse to brush their teeth so they were pretty easy to persuade. Me, Crumpet and Buttons-Twinkle -Toes climbed onto Comet, Donner and Cupid, we took hold of their antlers but they told us to hold on with our knees. Our knees!! are they mad?

Anyway, we held on with our arms around their necks and squeezing with our legs and off we went, first slowly along the ground, then faster and faster, the cold air rushed by us. We took off and were soon flying over the tops of the pine trees.

Wow this is fun. Then suddenly, the reindeer were spooked by a shooting star and banked steeply to the left. We weren´t ready for this and the force of it meant we lost our grip and slipped off. Down, down, down we fell and landed with a plop in a huge snow drift.
Then we had to dig our way out and tramp home through the deep snow which came up to the top of our heads. It took us hours. We were freezing by the time we got back to the house. We're not doing that again any time soon.

Lots of love from your elf

Trying parachuting for myself - great fun - but a bit TOO exciting sometimes!

Parachuting is very exciting I find. I've been enjoying it much more than the reindeer, but it got a bit hairy when I was swinging from one hand at an angle. Fortunately I can fly so it doesn't matter if I let go. Whatever you do boys and girls, - don't try this at home!

The health and safety man has spent all day playing with the train sets and talking to a rather attractive young lady elf. So I think we have distracted him. I just hope he goes away soon and forgets the whole idea of escape from the sleigh. I keep telling him that we will just float down but he won't listen.

A special request from a girl calle "Aline"
Anyway I had a request today from someone called Aline. Mrs Claus has been looking on her computer and thinks it must be this little girl here. She seems to live in Munich and has been a very good girl this year. Aline wants a puppy. Well Aline puppies are lovely aren't they? But they do take a lot of looking after and I'll have to talk to your mummy and daddy before I make any promises. Anyway here's a picture of a puppy for you Aline, and one thing I can promise you is that you will get lots of lovely presents.

Health and Safety get on my case!

It really is too much! I'm just recovering from walking all round Germany on St Nicholas day when there is a loud knock on the door this morning. I roll over in bed and Mrs Claus shouts. "Come down fast Nick. There's a nice man from Health and Safety come to see you."

Well it turned out someone had complained that there was no adequate escape method from my sleigh if it collided with an aeroplane. I told him that we flew by magic. But no, nothing would do except parachutes. So I've spent all day training the reindeer to jump off the sleigh, count to ten and pull the rip cord with their antlers. Dasher was best at. Here's his picture. But Prancer and Blitzen are really playing up. They won't even put on the harness. How I will be able to train them before Christmas day I just cannot imagine! And I've still got all the toys to make.

Terribly busy day - Am I sick of seeing children's trainers!!!

Walked all over Germany and Holland carrying nuts and putting them in children's shoes. I don't want to see another set of trainers in the whole of my life. I'm exhausted.

And I've still got to feed the reindeer before I go to bed. See you tomorrow.
